A returning customer NET LED Lighting, were upgrading to a new premises to keep up with their sales expansion. Based in Swavesey, Cambridge this new build unit provided an extensive warehouse space but needed some bespoke design work to develop the office facilities. This fit out project included the full 3D design and installation of partition walls, painting & decorating, doors, windows, suspended ceilings, carpet & vinyl, electrics, lighting, toilets, plumbing, cubicles, kitchen units and building regulations.
Due to our growth in recent years, we needed to relocate to a larger premises that would provide a bigger warehouse capacity and a larger open plan office space. With our previous layout the departments were split between two floors so members of staff would communicate by email rather than coming together to resolve issues face to face. The building we purchased was an empty shell so we knew we needed a high quality and impressive interior finish but without being ostentatious. Our previous experience of APS Projects was very good and we knew they would manage the entire project and schedule on our behalf. We visited their showroom so we knew the top quality of their work and they could start the work to suit our timescale.
Since the fit out project was completed we have all the management and support staff on one floor so everyone feels closer together as one team and communicates well to solve problems. The staff morale is very good and they’ve enjoyed being in an open plan space with lots of windows and natural light. Now our customers arrive and say “wow I didn’t realise you are a company of this size!”. We definitely have an edge over our competitors now because people come here and have the confidence to partner with us and they know we are going to be here in the future. Looking forward we still have room to grow here and have already started planning another mezzanine floor to create additional rooms for storage, marketing materials, product evaluation and maybe even a photography room.
